Aim

Is your church here?

A church is a Christian faith comminity.

A church building is only a meeting place.

It is difficult to provide simple evidence of the existence, now or at some time in the past, of faith communities to a wide audience. The collecting of photographs of churches seemed a way of doing this. It is also a small part of the record of Australia's Christian Heritage, which is being washed away. The importance of faith to earlier generations is also reflected in the number of church buildings.

Hence the aim is to collect the photographs of as many churches as possible - currently functioning or unfortunately closed.
