The aim of the site is to create a photographic record of church buildings in Australia, as more are lost through closure and change of use.

Reduction in numbers attending church worship is making many churches unviable for their remaining ageing congregations. Hence increasing closures and loss of heritage.

Churches are built evidence of Australia’s Christian heritage and through this site it is intended to create a photographic record of such. Each church building was evidence of an active faith community.
