Comments
The St Nicholas Anglican Church, Onslow is part of the Parish of Exmouth-Onslow and part of the Diocese of North West Australia. The church functions in conjunction with the Exmouth Anglican Community Church. The first St Nicholas church building was in Old Onslow. It was a large building erected in 1904. It was destroyed by a cyclone in 1909. After this church services were held in private homes, until the Mechanics Institute Hall was opened in 1912. When Onslow was relocated to a new town site at Beadon Point, a funding committee was set upon to raise funds to erect a new church building. This committee consisted on six women who raised a substantial sum of over six hundred pounds. The church building, also dedicated to St Nicholas, was opened about 19271.
