The Cathedral of the Holy Cross Anglican Church, Geraldton is in the Parish of Geraldton and the Diocese of North West Australia. The cathedral is the seat of the Bishop of North West Australia. The diocese was founded in 1910, with Broome designated as the Seat of the Bishop, while Geraldton remained part of the Diocese of Perth. However, in 1928 the boundaries were changed and Geraldton became part of the Diocese of North West Australia, and the Seat was moved from Broome to Geraldton in 1961. The present cathedral building replaced Christ Church Anglican Church, whose foundation stone was laid in 1868, by the first Bishop of Perth, the Rev Mathew Hale. The church building was demolished in November 1962, to make way for the cathedral. The cathedral was consecrated on 8/3/1964. More historical information/photographs of the cathedral/congregation are invited. Photographs upladed 20/5/2024 & 15/11/2025.
