St Andrew's Anglican Church

The St Andrew's Anglican Church, Mullewa is in the Parish of Mullewa and the Diocese of North West Australia. Services were held in the Town Hall prior to the erection of the church building, usually conducted by visiting clergy, particularly the Rev H Vine from Geraldton. The church building was opened and consecrated on 16/11/1921 by the Most Rev Charles O L Riley, Archbishop of Perth, followed by a confirmation service. The cost of the building was largely met by the Church of England Central Building Fund, with support from the local parishioners.  Blue granite for the foundations was collected and carted by Mr A W Beaumont from his property on the Wooderarrung River, while local parishioners quarried local stone for the walls. A rectory was built in 1927. In December 1962, the baptismal font from Christ Church in Geraldton was installed at St Andrew's, the Geraldton church building having been demolished. A parish hall was erected and opened in 1/12/1968. Other additions and renovations have been carried out over the years. The church celebrated its centenary on 29/8/2021.
