Foundation Stone Notes: Stone records: "Dedicated to our Lady, Star of the Sea - This church was built in 1904 - by the first parish priest of Cottesloe - Father Richard O'Neill - and completed by him in 1937 by the addition of the sanctuary - it served as a school also till 1925 - the land for the church and school were the gift of Dr Kenny - The marble altar is the tribute of his parishioners and - friends to the memory of his distinguished successor - Father John Fahey - who died on 28th April 1959".
