The Rev F F Fleming was appointed in 1899, as the first resident Methodist Minister in Northampton. Before the Northampton Methodist Church was erected services were held in the non-denominational Gwalla Church (see separate entry). The present church building was opened by Rev W Cramp on 5/7/1952.
