Presbyterian Church, Meekatharra

The Presbyterian Church, Meekatharra may now have closed, as it is no longer listed on the Presbyterian Church website. The church building was acquired by the Presbyterian Church in August 2008. Prior to that it had been the St Oswald's Anglican Church. St Oswald's had originally been opened as an Anglican Church on 24/8/1909 by Bishop C O L Riley. It continued as an Anglican church building until it was sold to the Presbyterians. It was the last church building in Meekatharra still in use. The Catholic and Methodist churches in the same street, had closed previously. They were all located in the area known as Church Hill. The first Anglican service is Meekatharra is believed to have been held in the Royal Hall in 1908. More historical information/photographs of the former church(s)/congregation(s) are invited.
