The Free Reformed Church of Byford was instituted on 27/1/1985 with the church building officially opened on 26/1/1987. Their first minister, the Rev C Bouwman, appointed shortly thereafter. The church is a member of the federation of congregations forming part of the Free Reformed Churches of Australia, of which there are 17 churches Australia wide.
