The former St Thomas' Catholic Church buidling is now privately owned. It was built about 1869. It was relocated to Norlane in 1951 and used as a church hall/school there, but in 1982 it was relocated back to its original site in Streglitz.
A little personal history about the old church building. " When St Thomas' Catholic Church building was moved to Plume St. Norlane, it was initially located at the southern end of St Thomas Aquinas Primary School's playground (approximately where the present church, constructed in the 1960s, now stands). In 1963 it was moved closer to the school building on the Watsonia Gve. side of the school grounds and used as a class room for Grade 3 students (I went through grade 3 in the 'Little Old Church' as it came to be known, in 1964). It was still in use for this purpose in the early 1970s." [provided by Carlo Gnaccarini - 10/7/2019]
