The Bairnsdale Uniting Church. From the time of the inauguration of the Uniting Church in 1977 services were held in St Andrew's (formerly Presbyterian) and Wesley (formerly Methodist) Uniting Churches, Bairnsdale, utilising both properties on a weekly basis at different times. After much consideration the decision of the Parish was to sell those properties and to purchase a 10 acre site on the corner of Lanes Road and Great Alpine Road, Lucknow and proceed with building a new complex to suit the needs of a congregation in modern times. Building was commenced in February 1989 by local builder HN Olver Pty Ltd, after a great deal of voluntary labour by church members to prepare the site. Furniture and stained glass windows, together with the Pipe Organ, had been carefully stored prior to vacating the previous premises. The stained glass windows were re-installed in the new building together with some of the furniture. Other items were stored for historical purposes. The new church was opened on 24th September 1989. A Thanksgiving Service together with burial of the Time Capsule was held on 15th October 1989. The pipe organ was restored and re-installed then dedicated on 24th February 1991.

More historical information/photographs of the church/congegation are invited. Photographs uploaded 30/1/2019.
