The St Michael's Uniting Church, Melbourne. The original chapel was built in 1839 and was the first permanent building constructed expressly as a church in the Port Phillip Settlement. This first chapel was demolished in 1863 to make way for the present church building, which was opened in 1866. It was formally established as the Collins Street Independent Church, a Congregational Union of Australia church, and later became the Collins Street Uniting Church. It is now known as St Michael's Uniting Church. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 30/1/2015.
