Comments
The St Etheldreda Anglican Church, Harrietville is part of the Alpine Parish and part of the Diocese of Wangaratta. The church began about 1880 with the church building erected about 1891 for the Wesleyan Methodists. It was soon to became a Union Church being used for worship by Anglicans, Presbyterians and Methodists. In the 1930s the Anglicans started planning to build their own church building. This however did not eventuate, as by 1942 Presbyterian services had ceased and by 1956 Methodist services had also ceased. In 1957 the Anglicans completed the purchase of the building and after necessary repairs the building was dedicated as St Etheldreda Anglican Church by Bishop T M Armour on 2/5/19591.
