This former St Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Cressy closed when the new church building was opened in March 1913. It was the first Presbyterian Church established in the region. Regular services had commenced in Boyd's Bridge Hotel in 1859. A decision to build a wooden church was made in 1860, but subscriptions were so generous a stone church was erected instead and opened on 16/3/1862. The opening of the railway line to Beeac (1911) and Geelong (1913) doubled the population of the district, rendering the 1862 building too small. A new brick church building, was opened on the adjoining site in March 1913 (see separate entry - St Andrew's Uniting Church- 3322). No other details are known. More historical information/photographs of the former church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 19/1/2018.
