The former Creswick Methodist Church, closed in 1972, and the congregation joined the Presbyterian congregation in St Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Creswick. The Wesleyan church began about 1854, with the first structure built of canvas and slabs, and a congregation made up predominantly of Cornish miners. By 1859 the building was inadequate for the growing congregation and plans for a new church building began. A new brick Wesleyan Methodist Church building was opened at Easter 1861, with the first worship service conducted by the Rev D J Draper. The Wesleyan Methodist Church became part of the Methodist Church at Union in 1902. From its earliest days, the Rev T Williams, grandfather of the Lindsay children was a preacher at the church. The 1861 church building was demolished in 19861. The church had been part of the Presbytery of Western Victoria in the Uniting Church Synod of Victoria & Tasmania. More historical information/photographs of the former church/congregation are invited. Photograph uploaded 4/9/2026..
