The former Rokewood Uniting Church was part of the Presbytery of Western Victoria and the Uniting Church Synod of Victoria & Tasmania. The church is now closed, and the property was sold in May 2021. The church began some years before the present church building was erected in 1865/6. The church building was formally opened by the Rev J O Dykes MA on 23/8/1866, although it was not complete, missing the vestry and the tower. The tower was completed on 8/12/1904. Early services were held in private homes, a hotel and later the local school, with clergy officiating including the Rev John Gow and the Rev Archibald Simpson. The standard and size of the church reflects the significant Presbyterian make up of the early pioneers of the district.1 More historical information/photographs of the former church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 13/7/2021.
