Montmorency Community Church

The Montmorency Community Church began about 1932, when two Salvation Army ladies reached out to their neighbours and soon started a Sunday School in the Butter Box Shed, behind the local store and Post Office. A tent meeting place was set up opposite the Post Office, but it soon became too small and the Briar Hill Primary School was then used. In 1935 a shed was moved to the present site for a meeting place which held its first service on 22/5/1935. An adjacent block of land was later purchased and the first Gospel Hall built and opened on 18/6/1955.
