The St Michael's Catholic Church, Ashburton is part of the Parish of Asbhurton and the Diocese of Melbourne. The first Mass was celebrated by Fr Patrick Loughnan in the Ashburton Hall, cnr High St & Johnston Sts, on 11/12/1927. The present church building was opened on 15/5/1955 by the Most Rev D Mannix.
