The St Matthew's Anglican Church, Bruthen is part of the Parish of Tambo and the Diocese of Gippsland. The church building was opened on 3/7/1892, although not quite finished. After completion and a few additions it was re-opened on 24/7/1898. In the late 1990s the building was extensively renovated with many changes to enlarge and modernise the inside space.
