The St Helens Uniting Church is part of the Presbytery of Tasmania and the Uniting Church Synod of Victoria & Tasmania. Regular Methodist services in St Helens, conducted by the Rev J Graham from Fingal, date from about 1871. The services were held, from about 1875, in the Anglican church in Tully Street. The first Methodist church building was opened on 15/12/1889, by the Rev W Presley, on the present site. Plans to erect a church building earlier, in 1883, did not proceed. The reason is unknown. The current church building was opened on 9/10/1988, and replaced the earlier building, which had been used for almost a century. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 7/5/2023.
