Comments

The former Derby Methodist Church has been closed for many years, and the property is now privately owned. Notwithstanding that the Methodists had been conducting services in the district for a number of years, a church building was not opened until 25/6/1887, the Rev Francis Neale presiding. Earlier services had been held in the gymnasium, which had been built by the miners. Although a Wesleyan Methodist Church had been built, it was agreed by the building committee, that other denominations could also use the building. More historical information/photographs of the former church congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 6/5/2023.
