The St Patrick's Catholic Church, Scottsdale is part of the Parish of Scottsdale and the Diocese of Hobart. It was not until 1884 that plans for the erection of a Catholic church in Scottsdale were actively progressed. The building, erected on land donated by Mr D Smith, was completed by the end of 1884, but there was an unexplained delay in its opening till 14/6/1886. Its consecration, followed shortly afterwards, in February 1887, conducted by the Bishop of Hobart. By 1978 the building had become too small and was replaced by a 'Log Cabin' style structure. Unfortunately this building was destroyed, when Advent candles accidently set fire to it in December 1992. It was replaced by the present building, which was opened in September 1994. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 30/4/2023.
