The Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Ulverstone is in the Parish of Ulverstone and the Diocese of Tasmania. Although European settlement in the district began in the late 1840s, and denominational services were held in private homes, no church building had been erected by the early 1860s. By 1866 an Anglican Sunday School had commenced and services were being held in Mr James Fogg's general store, giving impetus for a church building. The first church building in Ulverstone, was eventually opened on 26/11/1868 by Archdeacon Reiby, in Leven Street. After about 25 years the building was moved to corner Grove Street & Kings Parade, and plans were made to erect a new building at the corner of Patrick and Victoria Streets. This did not happen, and the building was moved to a new site in King's Parade, donated by James Smith, and enlarged. The enlarged building was opened on 24/12/1893. At the 60th anniversary of the church in 1928, Bishop Hay commented on the poor condition of the church building and expressed the view that it was unworthy of the parish. It was however another 30 years before the present building in Kings Parade was opened in May 1961. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 24/4/2023.
