The former Highfield House Chapel, Stanley, although never completed, held its first service in 1842, but closed when a church was erected/opened in Stanley (1847?). The chapel was the earliest 'church' established on the north west coast. The first service in Highfield was held in 1826, in Highfield Cottage, and was conducted by Thomas Swayne, who continued to conduct services until he left in 1841.  The chapel is today used for weddings. More historical information/photographs of the former chapel are invited. Photographs uploaded 21/4/2023.
