Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church

The Our Lady of the Sea Catholic Church, Stanley is part of the Parish of Circular Head and the Diocese of Hobart. The present church building was consecrated on 15/3/1931 by the Very Rev Denis Murphy, Administrator of the Diocese, replacing an earlier building opened on 18/7/1897 by the Rev Dean Beechinor. This building replaced the first Catholic Church in Stanley, a wooden structure, opened on 21/4/1850 by Bishop Willson. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited.
