Comments

The former Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Ridgley closed in November 1998, and the property was sold. The church had been part of the Diocese of Tasmania. The first Anglican services in Ridgley began in 1916 in the Ridgley Hall, but the congregation desired its own building. An old engine shed was purchased in Zeehan and transferred to Ridgley and fitted out for services. This was attended and the building was opened in January 1917. By 1926 it had become too small and a more suitable building for permananet use was needed. In October 1926, the Waratah Presbyterian Church building was acquired and relocated to Ridgley. After being refurbished, it was officially opened on 5/12/1926, by His Lordship, the Bishop of Tasmania, the Rt Rev Snowdon Hay. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 26/4/2023.
