Comments

The Westbury Uniting Church is part of the Presbytery of Tasmania and the Uniting Church Synod of Victoria & Tasmania. The first Wesleyan church building was erected in 1840, but soon became too small. However, it took until 20/4/1866 for the present church building to be erected and opened by the Rev J Eggleston. It had been partly funded by a bequest. The quality and design of the new church building reflected the desire for grandeur buildings in which to worship and the growing standing of the new colony and the districts prosperity. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 17/09/2016.
