An information board records: Uniting (formerly Methodist) Church - The Wesleyan Church was the first in Wilmington. It was built in Fifth Street in 1877 at a cost of [pounds] 233-4-4 (about $466). - The present building, erected by the Bible Christians opened on April 18th, 1880 and cost [pounds] 400 ($800). - In 1900, th Wesleyans and Bible Christians combined to form the Methodist Church - The Soldiers Memorial Porch was added in 1926.

The Wilmington Uniting Church is in the Flinders Uniting Churches Parish and part of the Presbytery of Southern SA and the Uniting Church Synod of South Australia. The church building was opened on 18/4/1880 for The Bible Christian Church, which amalgamated in the early 1900s to form the Methodist Church. It became part of the Uniting Church in 1977.
