An information board records: Anglican Church - Christ Church was built early 1885 at a cost of 436 [pounds] ($872) to accommodate 148 worshippers. - It was opened on August 23rd 1885 by George Wyndham Kennion, the Bishop of Adelaide. Previously, regular services were held in the local courthouse. - A fine toned bell weighing 102 pounds (46.6kg) was rung for the first time on August 9th 1891. To complete the church unit, a Sunday School Hall costing 321 [pounds] ($642) was built with the foundation stone laid on August 24th 1905. - A rectory was built in 1913 which is situated at 3 Fifth Street.

The Christ Church Anglican Church, Wilmington is part of the Parish of Jamestown/Southern Flinders Ministry District and the Diocese of Willochra. Anglican services, from about 1882, were held in the local Courthouse, until the church building was opened on 23/8/1885, by the Right Rev G W Kennion, Bishop of Adelaide.
