The former Sydenham Road Methodist Church, Norwood closed many years ago (1969?) and the property was eventually sold (1997?). The present building was opened in February 1873 for the Primitive Methodist Church, and replaced an earlier church building on the same site, the foundation stone of which was laid on 14/4/1857 by Edmund Nurse. The church celebrated its diamond jubilee in April 1932. The primitive Methodist Church became part of the Methodist Church at Union in 1900. The church also erected a Kindergarten Hall in 1922. More historical information/photographs of the former church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 30/3/2016 & 3/5/2026.
