The Strathalbyn Uniting Church (formerly St Andrew's) is part of the Presbytery of Southern SA and the Uniting Church Synod of South Australia. Early services took place on farm homesteads, from about 1839. The first church building was erected on the current site in 1844, being used by various denominations, and also as a school building. The first part of the present building was opened in January 1849, with transepts completed in 1859 and further enlargements to meet the needs of the growing congregation in 1865. It took about 90 years for the building to reach its present appearance. Following the formation of the Uniting Church it became the local church, with an other congregation amalgamating with it. Further major renovations were completed on 12/12/1982 [Sourced from: https://www.strathunitingchurch.org.au/building-history]  More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited.
