Comments
The former Laura Baptist Christian Community Church building at 38 Victoria Street has now closed, and the property has been sold (2022). The congregation now meets at 38 Herbert Street (see separate entry - 5480). It is a member of the Baptist Churches of South Australia. The church had its beginning in the home of Mr H W A Walter, with the early services conducted there by the Rev David Badger. The first church building was erected on land given by Miss Lydia Walter, and completed in November 1875, mainly by voluntary labour. However, the church was not formally established until 18/8/1876.
