The Lochiel Community Church is part of the Wimala Presbytery and the Uniting Church Synod of South Australia. As the only church in Lochiel, the community congregation is made up of many denominations. The present church building was erected in 1901 for the Methodist Church, replacing an 1891 wooden structure, opened about 1891 for the Wesleyan Methodist Church. The porch was added in 1936. The Lochiel Methodist Soldiers' Memorial Kindergarten Hall was opened on 4/12/1925 by Mrs J H Nicholls, one of the oldest members of the community.
