Morchard Uniting Church - Former

The former Morchard Uniting Church closed after its final service held on 21/9/2010. The church had been part of the Wimala Presbytery and the Uniting Church Synod of South Australia. From about 1876 worship services by The Bible Christian Church had been held in private homes in the area, and later in other venues, until the first church building was erected/opened about 1879. Over the years with an increasing congregation plans had been discussed for enlarging the 1879 building. These however, did not eventuate, and plans for a new larger building were undertaken instead. The new church building was opened on 28/9/1924, by the Rev John Dingle, who had been the church pastor about forty years earlier.
