The Church of the Transfiguration, Gawler South is part of Gawler Anglicans (together with the Church of St George, Gawler and St Francis, Trinity College, Evanston Park) and part of the Diocese of Adelaide. Church services began in Gawler South in 1892 in a small school room. The congregation grew and eventually the nave of the present church building was erected and dedicated by Bishop Harmer on 7/8/1895,  and named The Gawler South Mission, changing its name in 1899 to The Church of the Transfiguration. A porch and choir vestry were added in 1899. The building was further enlarged with the addition of a chancel in 1902. The first resident minister was the Rev E A Forbes. The church hall was opened on 24/2/1914, erected on land donated by Mrs R St Mark Dawes. The hall was sold in 2002. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited.
