An information board records: Site of - St Brigid's Catholic Church

St Brigid's Church was built in 1897 on land donated by an early landowner John West Manfield, at a cost of one hundred and fifty pounds ($300.00).

...The church was blessed by the Bishop of Port Augusta, Bishop James Maher in July 1897, and at the time, was the most northerly Catholic Church in South Australia.

Travelling Jesuit priests from Clare Valley visited St Brigid's to care for the spiritual lives of the Farina residents.

In 1936, the then Bishop of Port Augusts gave permission for the church to be relocated to Murray Town SA. It was dismantled, and trucked to its new site where it continues to be used as a church, until it was farewelled with a closing mass on the 19th June 1994.

The building was sold at auction on 24th June 1994 and relocated to Goolwa Beach for private use...
