A plaque records: Buckingham Church - Buckingham was the name given to the original 1881 selection of David Jones after his home county in England. He gave one acre of his land and this building was built as a church and school in 1884. 308 students attended the Buckingham School over the 61 years it was open between 1885 and 1956. Uniting Church services continue to be held regularly.

The Buckingham Uniting Church, is part of the Generate Presbytery, the Uniting Churches of the Tatiara (also includes Bordertown & Mundulla) and the Uniting Church Synod of SA. The present church building was opened in 1884 and in 16/2/1885 as a church and school, reverting to a church only in 1956. No other details are known.
