Historic plaque records: Lipson Uniting Church - The church was formerly the Wesleyan Chapel and School built in 1873 at the Burrawing Mine site. The church was carted, stone by stone, into Lipson and rebuilt. It was opened on 24th November 1893, renamed as Yaranyacka Church and in 1897 was again renamed as Lipson Methodist Church. Somehow the bell from the chapel found its way to the Church of the Epiphany and remained there until 1992 [church closed] when it was hung in the Tumby Bay National Trust Museum. In 1977 the church again changed its name to Lipson Uniting Church...
