A plaque on the rock beside the entrance in front of the church records: This Garden Area of - Tabor Lutheran Church - is the burial place of many of the - early members of the congregation- between the years 1850 ~ 1865 - (The names of those buried here - are recorded in the vestry). - "I am the resurrection and the life, he who believes in me though he die, yet shall he live, and whoever lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?" John 11: 25, 26.

The Tabor Lutheran Church, Tanunda is part of the Bethany/Tabor Lutheran Parish. The church was established by the Free Evangelical Lutheran Church. The first church building was erected in 1849, dedicated in 1850, rebuilt/extended in 1870 and extended again in 1910. The building was completely renovated in 1970. The original cemetery was in front of the church building, but relocated in the 1860s. No other details are known. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited.
