The former Grace Plains Methodist Church held its final service on 5/12/ 1971, and the property is now privately owned. The original Grace Plains Bible Christian Chapel building was erected in 1868. The union of the Bible Christians, Primitive Methodists and the Wesleyans formed the Methodist Church early in the 1900s. In 1909 the Grace Plains Methodist Church decided to erect a larger church building, which was opened, debt free, on 22/6/1909 by the Rev W G Clark. The Grace Plains Cemetery is located behind the former church building. [See Note below ]. More historical information/photographs of the former church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 1/1/2021.
