The Barossa Valley Seventh-day Adventsits Church, Nuriootpa is in the South Australian Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. The Barossa Valley church had its beginning when a Mr Lemke came, about 1912, to the Barossa Valley to distribute Adventist literature. In 1915 the German Seventh-day Adventist Church of Greenock was formed and met in homes until a church building was found. It soon became known as the Nuriootpa Seventh-day Adventist Church. The church building, previously a workshop was located on land donated by Mr A Bartsch, where it is still located today. Services were in German, and by 1927, were still conducted in German once a quarter. The present church building, in front of the old church, was erected, mainly by volunteer labour, was opened on 8/11/1975. In October 1975, the church changed its name to the Barossa Valley Seventh-day Adventist Church1. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited.
