Comments

The former Alawoona Methodist Church held its final service in August 1968, after which the property was sold. The first meeting of the church was held on 27/7/1917 in the home of Mr Hiscock. The present church building was opened on 22/1/1933, and replaced an earlier structure, erected in 1918. The earlier building is located directly behind the current building (see photograph 3). The church hall was used by the Lutheran congregation prior to the construction of their building (completed in November 1934 - see separate entry - 5311)).
