St John the Baptist Catholic Church - Former

The former St John the Baptist Catholic Church, Tamborine Mountain closed some years ago and the property was sold  (1964). The church had been part of the Diocese of Brisbane. The former St John the Baptist Catholic Church building was an historic timber structure originally used by the Marist Brothers. The century-old buildings which were later operated as a Guest House, were demolished in 2023, marking the end of an era for this iconic religious site. Following the sale of the former site in 1964, the congregation eventually transitioned to the current St John the Baptist Catholic Church, at 94 Beacon Road, Tamborine Mountain (see separate entry - 4272). More historical information/photographs of the former church/congregation are invited.
