The St John's Catholic Church, Peak Crossing is part of the Parish of Boonah (with All Saints', Boonah and Sacred Heart, Harrisville) and part of the Archdiocese of Brisbane. The first church building was blessed and opened on 10/12/1882 by Fr Andrew Horan. It was severely damaged in a storm in 1911, however during repairs white ants were discovered, which lead to plans for a new building. The new/present building replaced the 1882 structure, which was blessed and opened by Archbishop Duhig on  6/9/1914, as St James. It name was changed to St John sometime during the 1950s(?). More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 5/11/2016 & 6/5/2026.
