A plaque records: Heritage Site - The first Roman Catholic services were - held in 1852, in the home of Constable - William McAdam at Baddow. A wooden - church was erected here in 1858, and - replaced by this building in 1871.

The St Mary's Catholic Church, Maryborough is part of the Parish of Maryborough and the Diocese of Brisbane. The first St Mary's Catholic Church building was a wooden structure erected in 1858. A more substantial building was erected 1869/72. Over the years it has undergone many extensions and renovations. Before the erection of a church building, services were held in private homes. The church has recently celebrated its 150th anniversary. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited. Photographs upoladed 29/10/2019.
