A plaque records: Heritage Site - The first Roman Catholic services were - held in 1852, in the home of Constable - William McAdam at Baddow. A wooden - church was erected here in 1858, and - replaced by this building in 1871.

A plaque records: Conservation, Preservation and Restoration - of - St Mary's Parish Church - dedicated and blessed - by - Most Reverend John Alexis Bathersby DD - Archbishop of Brisbane - February 19th 1993. - ...Very Reverend Harry Bliss - Parish Priest.

The first St Mary's Catholic Church, Maryborough building was a wooden structure erected in 1858. A more substantial building was erected 1869/72. Over the years it has undergone many extensions and renovations. Before the erection of a church building, services were held in private homes. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited. Photographs upoladed 29/10/2019.
