The present Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Mackay building was opened in December 1926. The first Holy Trinity Church building was erected on this site in 1870-71, but lasted for only a few years collapsing in 1878.
The second Holy Trinity Church building was a wooden structure erected in 1879. It was detroyed by the 'Mackay Cyclone' of January 1918. A temporary church building occupied the site from 1918 until the present building was opened in December 1926.
