The St Patrick's Catholic Church, Gympie is part of the Parish of Gympie and the Diocese of Brisbane. The first wooden church was completed in 1868, but lasted only four years due to weather damage and white ants. A further church was completed in 1872 and opened by Rev Dr James Quinn, Bishop of Brisbane. The current church building was erected from 1883 to 1887. It was opened on 17/7/1887 by Archbishop Dunne, who had become the first Archbishop of Brisbane on 10/5/1887. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited.
