Comments
The former Barney View Community Church closed, and the lease of the property terminated, after its sale. A Uniting Church congregation had worshipped here until 2016, when it was succeeded by a Community Church congregation. The Uniting church had been part of the Presbytery of South Moreton and the Uniting Church Synod of Queensland. The church building had been built by nine men with logs felled on their own farms and carted to and from the sawmill by James Johnson. The site for the church was also donated by James Johnson. The church building was opened in 1908. The Beaudesert Times 27/10/2016 reports that the church built by locals in 1908, with timber sourced from nearby trees will be "handed back" to the locals at a ceremony on 6/11/2016. The church building was opened for the Methodist Church, which became part of the Uniting Church in 1977. More historical information/photographs of the former church/congregation are invited.
