The Christ Church Anglican Church, Tenterfield is in the Parish of Tenterfield and part of the Diocese of Armidale. The present church building was dedicated on 25/8/1956. It replaced an earlier structure, the foundation stone of which was laid on 23/10/1893. It is understood the first Anglican services (formerly Church of England) were conducted by the Rev S Hungerford from Armidale, between 1854 and 1858. The first church building was erected about 1860. This was replaced in 1893, and the church celebrated its centenary in 1993.
