The first St Anne's Anglican Church, Strathfield, a weatherboard building in Vernon Street, was opened on 3/5/1885 by the Bishop of Sydney, the Right Rev Alfred Barry. It was build on land donated by Mr J B Jones, but later sold to acquire a more central location.
The present St Anne's Anglican Church, Strathfield building was dedicated by the Right Rev William Saumarez in July 1893, although only partly complete. The final stage of the building was completed in December 1914. In 1905, St Anne's inaugurated the St Columba's Anglican Church in Homebush West, with the laying of the foundation stone (see separate entry).
