The present Reconciliation Church, (formerly Our Lady of Good Council Catholic Church) Phillip Bay building, was opened as a schoolhouse by Archbishop Gilroy on 17/8/1939. It has been erected at the expense of Miss Kate Egan, B M, M B E ., (at one time President of the CWA), Mrs Crossly, Mrs Thompson and their families, to assist the teaching and welfare of the children in the area.
The Aboriginal Catholic Ministry was established in 1989, and in 1998 was given sole use of the building, at which time it was remaned the Reconciliation Church. It is also associated with the St Andrew's Catholic Parish, Malabar. [Information sourced from: https://aboriginal.sydneycatholic.org/our-history/].
